The Journal of Power Institutions in Post-Soviet Societies

Recently when I was reading a book about the military reform in the Russian armed forces since the end f the 90's I found information about a website called The Journal of Power Institutions in Post-Soviet Societies. The web-based journal is an interdisciplinary academic research project for studies of state insinuations as armed forces in the former Soviet republics. On the website, the following statement can be read about the project

"The goal of pipss.org is to contribute to the understanding of armies and power institutions. The articles will deal with questions about the latter's organisation, ongoing changes and trends, and the relationship between these institutions and society.
The journal also aims to contribute to the understanding of society and state through the study of relevant institutions, using concepts belonging to the disciplines of anthropology, political science, sound science, economics, psychology, sociology and history.
The crossing of different disciplinary points of view will enable us to gain a more in-depth insight into the various aspects of the observed phenomena. The composition of the editorial board reflects this trans-disciplinary approach since it is made up of researchers in political science, sociologists, Slavists and linguists.
In this way, it will be distinguished from other journals dealing with power ministries solely from the perspectives of military history, tactics and strategic approaches."

The Journal is published by the Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche sur les Sociétés et les Institutions Post-Soviétiques / Centre for Research and Study on Post-Soviet Societies and Institutions which is based in France. The academic writers involved in the project are from various numbers of universities around the world. Every year a thematic study is published as the current is shown below.
