Recently I visited the city of Bauska. Among "must do" for a historian or a individueal interested in history are the Bauska Castle and Rundale Palace. Click on the links for more information.

Bauska Castle - Originally a castle of the famous medieval Livonian Order
Bauska Old Town - Some bonus photos
Friend-cities : Hedemora in Sweden and Rypin in Poland

Stone Carvings and Iron Works in Latvia
The Design by Francesco Bartolomeo Rastreli
Some things never change
Astonishing paintings. At the same time many paintings presented within the Palace were drawn by unknown painters.
The Golden clock
More beautiful decorations
Me in one of the reception rooms.
The Golden chair.
One more reception room
Interesting finding. The portrait of Frederick the Great to the left.
The sleeping chamber - rokoko style
The dinning chamber
The "pool" room?
Garden and park outside of the palace
